Google has announced that it is shutting down YouTube Kids app for TV. The app will be pulled from smart TVs, gaming consoles, and streaming devices in July. It advises users to use kids profile on the YouTube app to access kids content.
Google integrated YouTube Kids into the YouTube app for TV last year. However, it kept the YouTube kids app for TV for around a year. It is important to note that you can access Kids’ profile on the YouTube app even with signing in. Google suggests users watch YouTube Kids while signed in for a personalized experience and parental controls.
To set up Kids profile, Go to the left-hand menu in the YouTube app on your smart TV, streaming device, or game console. Select the profile picture to open the accounts page and select Set up YouTube Kids. Now follow the onscreen instructions to create a YouTube Kids profile profile.
YouTube Kids app will remain available as a standalone app for Android and iOS devices.
