WhatsApp for iOS now lets users share original-quality photos and videos

WhatsApp for iOS is getting a new option that it should have received years ago. Now the app lets users send photos and videos in original quality. This option has been added to WhatsApp version 23.24.73 for iOS.

For sending uncompressed photos and videos, tap the ‘+’ icon in any chat, select Document, and then tap ‘Choose photo or video.’ It will open the Photos app to select photos or videos. Photos or Videos shared via this method will have a file icon in the chat. The feature also limits file sharing to 2GB.

It is worth noting that WhatsApp for iOS already allows users to send HD photos, but that still compresses photos. With the new option, users can send uncompressed photos and videos as documents.

WhatsApp for Android users can already share photos and videos in original quality. This is because the File Manager apps for Android provide access to all the files stored on the device. On the other hand, the File app for iOS only limits access to files stored on the Files app. So, WhatsApp for iOS users could already share original quality photos and videos by moving photos or videos to the Files app. But this process was time-consuming. With the new direct option, they can now instantly share photos and videos in original quality quickly.

The update also lets you start voice chats without ruining in large groups. The company also added new bubbles in chat to help you see missed calls, ongoing calls, and complete calls. You can also quickly react to a static using your avatar.
