JIo Haptik has launched a WhatsApp chatbot that lets users request 5G connections based on their geographical location and device compatibility. The bot sports English, Hindi, and Marathi languages on WhatsApp.

The chatbot offers customized options based on connection, device, location, and more. It asks for a few details and then raises a request for a new 5G Jio connection.

Haptik Co-founder & CEO Aakrit Vaish said: “Haptik’s WhatsApp chatbot is paramount to helping customers experience 5G and benefit from powerful functionalities such as 5G voice, low levels of latency, edge computing, and network slicing. Our solution aims to cater to the needs of 500 million customers who will be migrating to Jio True 5G, at every step starting with eligibility check to lead collection to sim delivery to device shopping and post-sales support.”

Jio has a stand-alone 5G network that has no dependency on its 4G network. At the 46th annual general meeting (AGM), Jio confirmed that its 5G network is now active in over 96% of the census towns across India. Jio 5G is available in 236 Indian cities and is expanding to more cities and towns fast. The company is leveraging Haptik’s Proactive Messaging feature to reach and engage with new and existing users to boost the adoption of the 5G network.
