Honor has just unveiled its latest flagship foldable smartphone Honor Magic V2 in China. The phone claims to push the boundaries of innovation in foldable devices.

Honor Magic V2 features a super-light Titanium Hinge. It strikes a perfect balance between weight and strength. The company has also used its proprietary steel in the hinge for enhanced durability.

There’s a large 7.92-inch Foldable LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1600 nits of brightness. It also supports Stylus. The display also has a 6.43-inch 120Hz LTPO display with up to 2500 nits boringness and Nanocrystal glass 2.0 protection. It supports HDR10+ and 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut. The display panel also has 3840Hz PWM Dimming with TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free Certification.

The phone runs MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13. The company claims that the UI will offer a smooth and feature-rich user experience. The UI includes parallel space feature that enables users easily switch between personal and professional spaces.

The phone packs Octa Core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 4nm processor with Adreno 740 GPU. It comes with 16GB RAM and 256 GB or 512GB internal storage. There is also a Magic V2 Ultimate Edition with 1TB of internal storage.

The camera setup includes 50 megapixels primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, 50 megapixels ultra-wide camera with PIS, and 20 megapixels Telephoto Camera with OIS. It also features HONOR AI Motion Sensing Capture. For selfies, the phone has 16 megapixels front camera.

It has Symmetrical Stereo Dual Speakers certified by IMAX Enhanced and DTS X Ultra Algorithm. It has 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 5.3 LE, GPS (L1 + L5 Dual band), NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C (GEN1), and DP1.2 connectivity options. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an infrared sensor. It also has HTEE + QTEE Dual-Security System and a Discrete Security Chipset for enhanced security.

The company has introduced the thinnest dual Silicon-carbon Batteries that incorporate HONOR’s low-voltage charge energy-gathering technology for offering greater power output compared to graphite-based systems. The phone packs a 5000mAh Silicon-carbon battery with support for 66W Wired HONOR SuperCharge fast charging.

HONOR Magic V2 comes in Black, Gold, Silk Purple, and Silk Black color options.

HONOR Magic V2 starts at 8999 yuan in China for the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The variant with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage costs 9999 yuan. The HONOR Magic V2 Ultimate Edition with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at 11999 yuan. Pre-orders have already begun and the phone will be available for open sale starting from July 20, 2023.
