WhatsApp now lets users keep messages from disappearing in a thread on both Android and iOS devices. This option is now being rolled out globally with the latest WhatsApp update. The company began testing the feature earlier this month on Android and iOS.

If you have a disappearing message thread, open it and long press on a message to keep it in the chat. You can keep or upkeep the message by tapping the bookmark icon.

The sender of the message will also be notified if you save the message. Sender will also have control over who can keep the message. If the sender devices to upkeep a message, no one can keep it in the chat.

WhatsApp’s disappearing messages were added back in 2020. Users can set messages to vanish after 24 hours, seven days, or 90 days from the time they are sent. Users can enable this feature in all chats or for specific chats.

Users will have approximately 30 days to unkeep a message from the time it was kept.
