Team Fanisko won the hackathon. The team comprises four individuals including Venugopal Rajagopalan, Pugazhenthi Ramakrishnan, Harshaanthan Sivaraman & Vidin Choudhari. They made a 3D Augmented Reality solution to enhance the live cricket viewing experience.
Their offering let users play the game in real-time at their homes. They used Web AR technology and the solution can be integrated into the ICC app. It also offers in-depth player insights.
Team Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander was the 1st runner-up. They used modern technologies such as AI/ML & Web3 to design a platform for early-stage cricketers to show their talent and win rewards. Their product could allow ICC to foray into the metaverse. Users can create videos of their challenges and their videos can also be converted into NFTs.
Team The Geosquad from Greece was the 2nd runner-up. They made a product that let stadium-going fans engage more deeply on a match day through AR. Cricket fans can re-live memories from around the ground.
The ‘Next In’ hackathon kicked off in January 2023 and saw the participation of 9550 teams from 113 countries. Teams submitted ideas from across four key areas; Web3 & Metaverse, Fintech, In-stadia experience, and Augmented or Virtual Reality (AR/VR).
