Zomato is shutting down Indonesia business

Zomato has officially left the Indonesian market without any prior notice. The official website of Zomato Indonesia. Opening Zomato for any Indonesian city now displays a goodbye message.

It is not unexpected as the company had previously communicated its decision to close its Indonesian operations in the year 2020. Users were able to access the app’s restaurant directory but the app’s content was not being actively maintained.

The company also officially closed its Philippines operations earlier this month. The same goodbye message is being shown to people in the Philippines. Now Zomato is serving India and UAE only. In India, Zomato offers both food delivery and dining while it only operates in the dining business in the UAE.

Zomato was founded back in 2008 with an aim to connect restaurants and customers.
