Xiaomi India is shutting down its short-form video app Zili. The app will go offline on March 13. The company has already closed the official website and posted the shutdown notice on Instagram.

The app will shut down its operations on 13th March 2023 at 23:59PM “due to an operational adjustment.” The company advises users to download their data and encash and redeem z-point.

Zili was launched back in 2018 to compete against TikTok. The app saw good growth after TikTok was banned in India in 2020. It also came pre-installed on recent Xiaomi phones, boosting its user base. According to the Google Play Store listing, the app has more than 100 million downloads to date.

Last year, Xiaomi also shut down its digital payment app Mi Pay and digital lending app Mi Credit. The company also came under the scrutiny of the Indian government for tax evasion. It also lost its top smartphone maker spot to Samsung in the previous quarter.
