ICC-Nium “Next In” hackathon receives over 9000 entries from across 20 countries

The International Cricket Council and Modern Money Movement platform, Nium, announced a global hackathon “Next In” with an aim to create solutions to improve the digital cricket fan experience. The hackathon has received over 9,000 registrations from across 20 countries.

In the next phase of the hackathon, they will shortlist entries and ask for more entry details to further refine the entries. Finalists will pitch their concepts to a panel of judges, including Indian cricketer, Dinesh Karthik. This finale is to be conducted on 15th March 2023 in Bangalore.  

The jury members for the ‘Next In Hackathon‘ include:

  • Dinesh Karthik: Cricketer
  • Finn Bradshaw: Head of Digital for the ICC
  • Joaquin Ayuso: Head of the crypto and Web3 for Nium
  • Jaya Kapur: VP Product Management for Nium
  • Unmish Parthasarathi: Founder and president of a sports technology firm Picture Board Partners

The finale of this hackathon will be conducted on 15th March 2023 in Bangalore and winners will get a lucrative prize pool of US $10,000. The team who wins the first prize will get $5000. Teams who secure the 2nd and 3rd spots will get $3000 and $2000 respectively. In addition to the case prizes, they also get an opportunity to showcase their solutions to industry experts to further gain exposure and support to develop their ideas.
