Microsoft is killing SwiftKey for iOS on October 5

Microsoft has announced that it is pulling SwiftKey from the Apple App Store and will end support for the app on October 5. If you already have the app installed on your iPhone, you can keep using it until you do not uninstall it by yourself.

SwiftKey has been available on iOS since 2014. It is unclear why the company decided to discontinue SwiftKey on iOS. The company didn’t confirm any reason for this hard decision. It is interesting to note that the app has not been updated in over a year.

Microsoft acquires Swiftkey

SwiftKey is a free predictive keyboard app that helps mobile users type faster. It analyzes a large amount of text to predict what a user could type by using AI and machine learning. Microsoft bought Swiftkey in 2016.

The company will continue to support SwiftKey on Android.

If you already have SwiftKey installed, you can keep using it. Otherwise, you can install Google’s Gboard which is a good keyboard app for iOS.
