Apple introduces the new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max
Along with iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, Apple has also unveiled iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models The biggest change in the design is the new pill-shaped notch that is called “Dynamic Island.” Both phones still feature ceramic shields and stainless steel bodies.
Apple’s iPhone Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max feature 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch displays respectively. The display is now brighter and supports an Always-on display. The Always-On Display can display the time, widgets, and Live Activities. You can also set it to display your phone’s wallpaper in a dimmed state. When you are now using the phone, it will dim the display the lower the refresh rate. Apple claims that the display refresh rate can go to as low as 1 Hz. The display has 1,000 nits max brightness and 1,600 nits peak brightness. There is also fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating.
Now the proximity sensor is behind the screen and Apple has also updated the TrueDepth camera to make it smaller. The pill-shaped cutout is dynamic and is used dynamically by the UI to show notifications and controls.
Both phones pack the new A16 Bionic SoC that includes a 6-core CPU and 16 billion transistors. It includes two high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. A16 is built on a 4nm process and is capable of computing 17 trillion operations per second.
These phones feature a triple camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera. It is a 65% larger sensor and features a new 24-millimeter focal length., There is a new 12 MP ultra-wide sensor with 1x mode, 2x mode, and 3x modes. It has a 13mm focal length and f/2.2 aperture. There is also a new telephoto camera offering 2x optical zoom. The flash has also been updated to offer twice the brightness. The phone supports video recording up to 4K at 30fps. For movie makers, it also supports 4K at 24fps.
There are also 12 megapixels TrueDepth Autofocus Camera for selfies. It has f/1.9 aperture.
The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max also support emergency SOS via satellite feature. This feature lets you connect to a satellite to send SOS messages when you have no network around.
The iPhone 14 Pro and The iPhone 14 Pro Max start at $999 and $1099, respectively. These phones come in Space Black, Purple, Silver, and Gold models.
