Apple has finally unveiled the new iPhone 14. This year, the company has also added a new Plus model dubbed iPhone 14. The new iPhone 14 comes with a Super Retina XDR display. The iPhone 14 Plus is for those who want a bigger iPhone but don’t want to buy the Pro model.

The iPhone 14 features a 6.1-inch display while the iPhone 14 Plus is getting a bigger 6.7-inch screen. Both the iPhone 14 models have the same Super Retina display with up to 1200 nits brightness and there is also a ceramic shield to protect the display from scratches. The display has Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating and has a 2532×1170-pixel resolution.

Apple 14 packs an A15 processor that now features a 5-core GPU. The GPU is 18% faster than the previous generation.

The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus comes with a 12 megapixels primary camera with a large sensor offering larger 19-micron pixels and f/1.5 aperture. Apple claims that it has also improved low-light photography by 49%. Both phones come with a new 12 megapixels TrueDepth camera with f/1.9 aperture for selfies. The selfie also has autofocus for the first time. Video recording is also getting a new Action Mode that stabilizes shaky footage while you are recording videos.

Apple has also removed the SIM card slots from iPhone 14. These phones only support eSIM. Now when US US carriers widely support eSIMs, Apple thinks iPhone no longer needs a physical SIM card slot. This change is only for US customers. iPhones sold in other countries will still feature a physical SIM card slot.

The company has also added a new service called Emergency SOS via satellite. The new iPhone 14 antennas can connect to the satellite and the new app will show you where to point your iPhone to establish the connection. So, you can send your emergency message even if there is no network. Apple will also offer templates for such situations where you won’t be able to type much. The Emergency SOS features will be available in November. It will be free for two years with the iPhone 14 in the US and Canada.

Both phones will be available in five colors including Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, and (PRODUCT)RED. Both phones are IP68 rated and can survive under 6 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

The new iPhone 14 starts at $799 for 128GB storage and the iPhone 14 Plus will start at $899 for the 128GB storage model. These phones will also be available in 256GB and 512GB models.

The iPhone 14 will be available on September 16th while the iPhone 14 Plus will be available on October 7th.
