Xiaomi showcases humanoid robot prototype

Today, Xiaomi unveiled its humanoid robot prototype dubbed CyberOne. The company claims that CyberOne can sense emotions and can run at a speed of 3.6 km/h. It has a height of 1.77 meters and weighs 52 kilos.

CyberOne has a face made of a curved OLED panel. It includes two microphones for hearing and two cameras to see the world in three dimensions. The body has 13 joints that allow it to move through 21 different degrees of freedom. The legs of this robot are propelled by motors that have a maximum torque of 300Nm. Motors on the upper limbs have a maximum torque of 1Nm.

Xiaomi claims that CyberOne can sense 45 different sorts of emotions from human vocal expressions.

CyberOne is still a very early stage prototype and will go through several changes before becoming available to businesses.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun hinted that CyberOne would cost about 600,000 to 700,000 yuan when it becomes available.
