Xiaomi introduces AR smart glasses with Snapdragon 8-series chipset, dual camera

Xiaomi just announced its AR smart glasses dubbed Xiaomi Mijia Glasses Camera. These glasses look like a regular pair of glasses but pack high-end technology.

On the left side of Mijia Glasses, there are two cameras including 50 megapixels main camera and 8 megapixels periscope telephoto camera. The telescope camera offers 5x optical zoom and up to 15x digital zoom. It also features optical image stabilization. The right side has a MicroLED screen made by Sony. The screen has 3,000 nits of peak brightness and 3,281 PPI pixel density.

The gadget packs a Snapdragon 8-series chipset inside, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It also comes with a dual-band WiFi chip and Bluetooth 5.0.

Xiaomi Mijia Glasses pack a 1,020 mAh battery that can offer up to 100 minutes of video recording. It also supports 10W magnetic charging that charges the gadget from 0 to 80% in just 30 minutes.

For now, the company has plans to sell the glasses only in China. We are not sure if the company will ever bring them to any other countries. The company has also started a crowdfunding campaign where interested customers need to pre-order and wait for it to be delivered. The device will cost CNY2,699.
