Apple introduces updated MacBook Pro and MacBook Air with M2 chip

After detailing the M2 chip, Apple introduced redesigned MacBook Air and updated MacBook Pro. The new M2 chip brings a big performance upgrade. The new MacBook Air starts at $1,199 and MacBook Pro M2 will start at $1,299.

The updated MacBook Pro comes with a 13-inch display and keeps the Touch Bar. It has updated to 24GB RAM and up to 2TB storage. The laptop also promises up to 20 hours of battery backup.

The new MacBook Pro packs Apple’s M2 chip which promises improved performance. The company claims that working with RAW images in apps like Affinity Photo is nearly 40 percent faster. It also supports ProRes encode and decode in the media engine.

The redesigned MacBook Air comes with a larger 13.6-inch display. The M2 chip brings big performance improvements. There’s a little note on the display for the 1080p webcam. The new MacBook Air is 2.7 pounds and is only 11.3 mm thick. The laptop includes MagSafe for charging. The speaker system supports Spatial Audio.

MacBook Air with M2 promises 20% improvement in photo editing and 40% in video editing over the M2 version. The laptop has a dual-port USB-C charger and promises 18 hours of video consumption on a fully charged battery. It can also be charged up to 50% in 30 minutes.
