Samsung is the latest victim of cyberattack and data breach. The company has confirmed that hackers stole internal company data and source code for Galaxy devices. It seems the hackers’ group LAPSUS$ is behind the attack. This is the same group that stole data from Nvidia last week.

The group posted source code for the bootloader and biometric authentication systems of Galaxy devices in the Telegram channel last week. They posted a torrent file containing 190GB of data.

Samsung has issued a statement on the incident and confirmed that no personal data or customers or employees had been accessed. It confirmed that some of the data related to Galaxy devices were accessed. The company also claims that it has already taken measures to prevent further beaches.

“There was a security breach relating to certain internal company data,” Samsung said in a statement given to Bloomberg. “According to our initial analysis, the breach involves some source code relating to the operation of Galaxy devices but does not include the personal information of our consumers or employees. Currently, we do not anticipate any impact on our business or customers. We have implemented measures to prevent further such incidents and will continue to serve our customers without disruption.”

The group demanded a ransom from Nvidia for not sharing files in the public domain. After Nvidia didn’t respond, the group leaked the company’s DLSS technology and information related to six unannounced graphics cards. Samsung didn’t confirm if hackers contacted them before leaking their data online.
