At Apple Event, Apple announced another Apple Silicon processor M1 Ultra. This is the most powerful SoC to date comprising a 20-core CPU, a 64-core GPU, and a 32-core Neural Engine.

Apple’s M1 Ultra features two M1 Max chips connected via their new UltraFusion technology. This tech enables 2.5TB/s of low latency, inter-processor bandwidth. So, the system basically behaves as one chip offering extra performance.

M1 Ultra features a 20-core CPU with 16 high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. It boasts to offer 90% better performance for the same power consumption as Intel Core i9-12900K. The chip is also more powerful than the 12900K in multi-threaded tasks

There is also a 64-core GPU that claims to be 8 times faster than the standard M1 chip. It claims to offer faster performance than even the highest-end PC GPU (GeForce RTX 3090) while using 200 fewer watts of power.

Apple has also improved memory bandwidth that now reaches 800MB/s. The M1 Ultra can be paired with up to 128GB of unified memory. The memory will be available to both CPU and GPU.

M1 Ultra offers support for up to five displays, four of which can be 6K Pro Display XDR, and the fifth can be a 4K display.

M1 Ultra will first come in the newly announced Apple Mac Studio that is their latest high-performance desktop system.
