Wordle is now trending on Twitter where people are sharing their success in guessing the 5 letter word. The game is interesting and challenging as well. I have already written an article explaining Wordle. Read that to understand what this game is all about.
Wordle requires a good knowledge of English words. You need to guess a 5 letter word in 6 tries. Each step provides some hints about the letters and their placements. Use that knowledge to guess the word in the next step. The more words you know, the better guess you can do.
To solve the dictionary problem, I have made a tool where you enter the conditions and fetch the English dictionary words matching that criteria. I call it Wordle Helper. It doesn’t solve the puzzle but helps you. You still need to pick a word from the words matching your criteria but most people found success with this tool.
This tool has three different inputs. First is the excluded letters where you need to enter grey letters in comma-separated form. This tool will fetch all the matching words that don’t contain excluded letters. In Included letters, enter Yellow marked letters that should be in the word. When you find a green letter, you know its specific position. So, enter the specific position. Press submit and it will search for all the words matching the criteria. From the results, pick a word and try. You will get some more Grey, Yellow and Green letters. Add new letters to different conditions to narrow the search results.
The list of suggested words contains the solution of the day. In each step, you get new hints that make the list of suggested words shorter.
