Canon India has launched its most advanced full-frame mirrorless camera Canon EOS R3 in India. The camera features a newly developed back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor and a new Eye Control AF.

The camera aims at advanced enthusiasts, professional and hybrid shooters who want high-end performance for several applications such as weddings, sports, wildlife, and cinematography.

The camera comes with 24.1-megapixel BSI stacked CMOS sensor. The company says that this sensor can deliver better resolution performance than the 30.4-MP sensor on the EOS 5D Mark IV. The camera also has a Digic X processor and can capture bursts of 150 14-bit RAW photos at up to 30 fps with its electronic shutter. It has an ISO range from ISO 100 to 102,400 (expandable up to ISO 204,800 for stills). I

It has 1,050 AF points scatted across the sensor and supports improved tracking. Canon is also adding a newly updated version of its eye control that lets you select a focused subject simply by looking at it using the R3’s EVF. There’s a dedicated sensor that tracks where your eye is looking. The company also admits that this feature may not work for all eyes and types of contact lenses.

It is cable of recording 6K 60p RAW or 4K 120p 10-bit movie at the full-frame angle of field.

Canon EOS R3 features a 3.2-inch Vari-angle LCD touch screen that boasts 4.15-million-dots, the highest ever in any Canon camera. It also includes a new 5.76-million-dot OLED EVF with a refresh rate of up to 120 fps. The camera also features in-body image stabilization of up to 5.5 stops.

The battery of this camera can be charged using a power bank that supports Power Delivery via USB-C cable.

Canon EOS R3 is priced at Rs. 4,99,995 (body only) and will be available in India by November. Canon RF100-400 mm and Canon RF16mm lenses will also be available at INR 58,995 and INR 26,995 respectively.
