The dating app happn today announced that the company is developing a range of audio features for its users. These features will be added to the app later this year in September. The company claims that upcoming features will enable an even immersive, sensory online dating experience.

The company says that the new audio and voice features will try to reflect the magic of meeting someone in real life. But the company didn’t reveal anything about the features.

“Once again, we want to use technology to help singles and improve the dating experience,” says Didier Rappaport, CEO of happn. “The integration of the senses into online dating is one of the biggest challenges applications will face in the coming years. We have chosen to start with the voice, and we are convinced it will totally revolutionise how we meet and get to know other people.”

happn is a unique dating app that enables singles to connect with someone they crossed paths with. We see attractive faces on the screen, on the train, and even in a coffee shop. If you cross paths with another happn user, the profile appears in your timeline. If both users like each other’s profiles, it will be a match.

After Clubhouse, a drop-in audio chat platform, became trending, many companies are adding audio features. Facebook introduced a set of audio features back in April. Twitter has already released Spaces. Reddit, LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, and Spotify are some other companies that are also betting on audio features.
