Social media giant Facebook has announced several audio features for the Facebook app. These features aim to take on Clubhouse and will be rolled out in the coming months. These audio features will be added to different sections of Facebook.

Facebook will soon let users host live chat rooms on Facebook Groups and Messenger. It will be similar to Clubhouse rooms where users can have conversations on different topics. The company has confirmed that Live Audio rooms should be live by July.

The company will also be adding short-form audio called Soundbites that let users record short voice messages and post them to the platform. Facebook will start testing the feature in the coming months and select users will get access to it.

Now when Podcasts are becoming popular, Facebook will also allow users to listen to Podcasts on the main app. In place of being a platform for creating and hosting Podcasts, the company will partner with Spotify. That means users can listen to Spotify Podcasts directly from the Facebook app. Facebook will also bring a search for making Podcast discovery much easier.

Facebook is also working in several audio filters and voice effects such as smart noise reduction, speech-to-text, and voice morphing. With these filters and effects, the company wants the audio experience better and more fun.

To attack attention of creators, Facebook will also offer monetization option. Users can support creators by donating Stars. The company will also add subscription features for Live audio rooms. So, it will be like hosting a paid virtual audio conference.

Clubhouse became popular recently and all the companies started copying the same experience. Twitter was the first one that introduced Twitter Spaces. Recently, Reddit also introduced Reddit Talk. LinkedIn, Slack, Discord, and Spotify are a few other companies that copied Clubhouse.
