At the Google I/O developer conference, Google announced several changes in its WearOS. The company also confirmed that it is finally launching a YouTube Music app for Wear OS. The app will come with features like smart downloads.

Previously, users had Play Music app but it was killed in September last year in favor of YouTube Music. Since then, users were missing a music app. As of now, WearOS users can only have a basic media notification and control of what’s playing on their phone.

The most notable thing about the YouTube Music app is that it lets users download tracks and listen to them offline. YouTube Music app also automatically sync your favorite and recent tunes

We still don’t know when YouTube Music app will be available for WearOS devices.

Google also announced that the company is now merging WearOS and Tizen platform to offer a unified and faster wearable platform. It will be easier for developers to make apps and also improve the overall smartwatch experience.
