Sony removes Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation; offering refund

Sony has confirmed that it is pulling CD Projekt SA’s Cyberpunk 2077 from its PlayStation Store. The company is also offering full refunds to everyone who wishes to.

This surprising move came after several gamers complained about the bugs in the game. Gamers are facing routine crashes and visual glitches. Early reviewers are really bad. Many gamers on PS4 and Xbox One complained about poor performance and low framerate.

“SIE (Sony Interactive Entertainment) strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store,” Sony said Friday.

Cyberpunk 2077 was a highly anticipated game of 2020. After several delays, the game was finally released on December 10. The rollout was smooth but the game failed to meet gamers’ expectations. The PC version of the game is running fine despite numerous bugs, but gamers who are on older platforms, especially on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Several gamers posted videos and screenshots of glitchy graphics and bugs on Twitter.

The refund was initially promised by Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red. The company also issued an apology and promised to “fix bugs and crashes” with patches in January and February.
