It seems WhatsApp will soon add the Disappearing Messages. As the name suggests, disappearing messages will disappear after a recipient has read it. The company has not revealed anything officially, but it has added a FAQ page suggesting the possible rollout of the feature soon.

The disappearing messages feature has been rumoured for long. Traces to this feature had been spotted several times in the beta updates. Finally, it is coming.

WhatsApp FAQ page reads, “You can send messages that disappear on WhatsApp by turning disappearing messages on. Once enabled, new messages sent in the chat will disappear after seven days.”

The company has also confirmed if the disappearing message contains a media file, it will be downloaded to your photos. So, only the message will disappear but the photo wills till be there in the photo gallery. The disappearing message will be included in the backup. If a user forwards a disappearing message, it will only disappear from his chat and not from the forwarded chat.

Now when the FAQ page is ready, we can expect the feature to be available soon.
