Google has officially dropped DayDream virtual reality support from Android 11. The company will no longer update the software and Daydream may not even work on Android 11. After launching the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones, Google officially killed the Daydream VR headset.

“Daydream VR software is no longer supported. You may still be able to access the service, but it won’t receive any more software or security updates,” Notes Google’s support page.

If you already own a Daydream VR headset and controller, you can still be able to enjoy VR content. Many third-party apps may still be available but may not work properly on some devices running Android 11 or later.

Google launched its VR platform Daydream VR back in 2016 and introduced VR Headset.

Google has now shifted its support from Virtual Reality to Augmented Reality. If you are still interested in enjoying VR content, you can turn to Oculus.
