Apple just announced Apple Watch Series 6 with new features to offer a better experience.

Apple Watch Series 6 has the same design that was in Watch Series 5 and Series 4 but Apple has added some additional sensors. Watch Series 6 comes with blood oxygen monitoring and offers better sleep tracking. The new Apple smartwatch can measure blood oxygen levels in about 15 seconds. It has an always-on altimeter to provide you real-time elevation information. Apple claims that this information is accurate down to a foot of measurement.

It packs Apple’s S6 chipset that is 20% faster than the predecessor. The watch runs on WatchOS 7 announced t WWDC earlier this year. The always-on display boasts to be 2.5 times brighter than the one on the predecessor. It is now easier to read outdoors. You can also now access notifications, Control Center, change watch faces without fully waking the screen. There is a range of watch faces to suit your mood and personality.

All the aluminum models of Watch Series 6 are made of 100 percent recycled aluminum. The new Apple Watch will be available in gold, graphite, blue, or a new Product (RED) versions. Apple has also announced a new strap called the “Solo Loop” that is made from one piece of silicone without any buckles. Solo Loop will be available in a range of styles and seven different colors.

Apple has also introduced a new feature called Family Setup that lets parents set up and manage Apple Watches for their kids who don’t have an iPhone yet. Parents will be able to manage who the chid can call, set up location alerts, and more. It requires a cellular Apple Watch model.

Apple Watch Series 6 will be available starting at $399 for the 40mm model. Pricing is the same that was for Series 5. So, we can now expect a price drop in order models. Apple Watch Series 6 will be available starting today, September 15th. With an aim to reduce electronics waste, Apple is not including a USB power adapter in the box, just a charging cable.

Apple is also introducing a new service called Fitness Plus for Apple Watch users. This is a subscription service for virtual workouts and improved fitness tracking features. The service costs $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year. You can also get it Ibn Apple’s bundle service called Apple One. I will talk about Apple One in a different article.

Apple Watch Series 6 in India starts at INR 40,900.

  • Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS): Rs. 40,990
  • Apple Watch Series 6 (GPS + Cellular): Rs. 49,900

Apple has also announced the Apple Watch SE for those who need an affordable smartwatch.
