Apple has also announced the eight-generation iPad model with 10.2-inch display. The tablet gets better processor while maintaining the same price.
The new iPad packs faster A12 chipset that was also used in 2019 iPad Air and iPad mini models. A12 chip also brings Neural Engine processing to entry-level iPad.
It runs on iPadOS 14. There’s also a standard Touch ID home button. The new model will still fit existing cases including its keyboard case. You can also use it with the first-gen Apple Pencil.
This model is still using Apple’s proprietary Lightning port for charging.
This new iPad is priced at $329 but education customers can get it for a discounted $299. The new iPad comes in space gray, silver, and gold colors in both 32GB and 128GB storage options. The LTE version will also be available starting at $459.
