Snapchat to bring TikTok-style music Snaps

Snapchat Music Snap

Now Snapchat is also taking aim at TikTok. The company will soon introduce music Snaps that will allow users to add music to the videos. The feature will initially be available to English-language users this fall.

Snapchat will launch the feature with a robust and curated catalog of music from Warner Music Group, Universal Music Publishing Group, Merlin, and more.

The feature won’t be an exact copy of TikTok. When friends receive a new Snap with music, they can swipe up to view the album art, song title, and artist name. There will also be a Play button for listing to the full song on your streaming platform of choice. Snapchat says its music feature will allow fans to form deeper connections with artists and music.

Snapchat has the most number of Young user base and reaches 90% of all 13 to 24-year-olds in the U.S. That is much more than other popular social media apps.

So it is clear that Snapchat doesn’t want t be a full-on TikTok competitor, but is surely interested in gaming some creative users on its platform.
