Vodafone India launches eSIM Support for iPhone users in India

Today, Vodafone Idea launched eSIM support for its postpaid customers in selected regions. Now postpaid Vodafone Idea customers from Delhi, Gujarat, and Mumbai circles will no longer be required to put in a physical SIM card to access the cellular network. For now, this ability is just for iPhone users and will be expanded to other smartphones later this year.

Supported phones are iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE (2020), iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and the iPhone XR. If you are a Vodafone Idea postpaid customer of the mentioned region and own any of these phones, you can think of using eSIM.

How to get Vodafone Idea eSIM

To avail this service, you need to send an SMS message “eSIM email id” at 199. If you do no gave an email ID registered with your mobile number, you need to fiesta send an SMS “eSIM email_id” to 199 to initiate the eSIM registration process. Replace email_id with your email address.

Once your email id is validated, you will receive an SMS from 199. You need to reply back with “ESIMY” to confirm your request. Then you will receive another message asking you to provide consent. You will also receive an email with a QR code on registered email ID. You will have to scan this on your phone. While doing the process, make sure you have an active Wi-Fi or mobile data. To scan the QR code follow, Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan. Here you will see an option to scan the QR code.

For new customers, you will have to get eSIM support by visiting your nearest Vodafone store. Don’t forget to take your phone with you.

Airtel and Reliance Jio are already offering eSIM support in India.
