Mozilla has officially launched a VPN service Mozilla VPN in 6 countries including the US, Canada, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and New Zealand. The VPN client is available for both Windows and Android.

The service was announced last month as “Firefox Private Network” but the company has now rebranded it to Mozilla VPN. It is available for $4.99 a month and promises more private and secure web-browsing.

Mozilla claims that its VPN service is based on a protocol with less than a third of the lines of code of an average VPN service provider. So, it should offer faster browsing in many cases.

To use Mozilla VPN, you need to have a Firefox user account. The company further claims that it doesn’t keep user data logs and collects the information it needs to run the service.

For $4.99/month, you can use the VPN in up to 5 devices with no bandwidth restrictions. The company says that it has 280+ servers in 30+ countries to offer good web browsing speed.

Mozilla hopes to expand the availability in several other counties by the end of the year. The company also promises to bring iOS client soon.
