MTNL introduces 1Gbps broadband plans in Delhi starting at Rs 2,990

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has announced two new broadband plans offering a speed of 1 Gbps. Both of these plans have been announced for New Delhi users and are priced at Rs 2,990 and Rs 4,990.

In the Rs. Rs 2,990 plan, consumers will get FUP limit of 3TB monthly data and 6GB monthly data FUP in the plan of Rs. 4,990. However, new MTNL customers will get 4TB and 8TB monthly data for the first 6 months.

Jio also offers two 1 Gbps plans but they are costlier and offer less FUP. MTNL costs half and FUP is almost double. Airtel Xstream is also offering 1 Gbps plan priced at Rs 3,999 but the FUP limit is 3.3TB. So MTNL has a clear advantage.

MTNL is also offering free unlimited voice calls to any network within India.

MTNL also has other FTTH plans with a speed of up to 500 Mbps and 100 Mbps. The Rs 1,111 FTTH plan offers 500 Mbps speeds with FUP of 1500GB and a similar plan with FUP of 2000GBs at Rs. 2000 per month.

Recently MTNL and BSNL also announced merger, soothes plans will also be available to BSNL customers in coming future. BSNL recently started offering free calls to MTNL customers across three different prepaid plans.
