GoPro launches new Hero8 Black and MAX

GoPro has announced the latest action cameras including GoPro Hero8 Black and GoPro MAX. Hero8 Black joins the Hero line of action cameras while the MAX is the part of 360-degree ruggedized action cameras series.

GoPro Hero8 Black can shoot in both 1080p and 4K. It features HyperSmooth 2.0, second-generation of GoPro’s digital stabilization technology for smooth videos. It also brings the option to adjust options as per your choice.

There’s a new ability called Digital Lenses. It lets you adjust the framing in four different settings: Narrow, Linear, Wide and SuperView. There’s also RAW support in all the photos modes of the camera.

The company has also improved its variable speed recording mode TimeWarp. It has also improved SuperPhoto and HDR functionality. Other improvements include the ability to live stream Full HD video, dedicated Night Lapse Video mode and 2x stronger lens.

GoPro HERO8 Black is priced at Rs. 36,500 in India. It is now available for pre-order and will be available starting October 15.

GoPro has also Mods to give you some add-on features. The first one is Media Mod that also includes a built-in shotgun mic. It costs $79.99. There’s a Display Mod that adds a flip-up LCD viewfinder and it costs $79.99. It also has a Light Mod priced at $49.99. It adds a 200 lumen LED continuous video light source for low light.

GoPro MAX is the successor of the GoPro Fusion 360 camera. It seems less oriented at 360 videos and more at content creators who want to vlog. The camera also includes a front-facing display. It comes with two lenses and can be used in several ways.


Users can reframe 360 footage captured from GoPro Max right on their phones using the updated GoPro app. It has 6 mics for directional sound recording and supports one-click 270° panorama shots.

GoPro Max is priced at Rs. 47,990 in India and will be available starting October 24.
