OnePlus has finally launched its 2019 flagship phone, OnePlus 7 but this time the company has two new smartphones OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro. OnePlus 7 Pro is the costliest OnePlus phone ever while the OnePlus 7 brings notable upgrade over previous OnePlus 6T.
OnePlus is already selling OnePlus 6T on discount, but that becomes irrelevant when you see the price of newly launched OnePlus 7. If you already own a OnePlus 6T, you may think of upgrading but should you? In this article, I will point out the differences in OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 6T, to give you an idea of how OnePlus 7 is better and whether it is worth to upgrade or not.

OnePlus 7 is nearly identical to OnePlus 6T. Both the phone features same 6.41-inch optic AMOLED display offering Full HD+ resolution. The Overall form factor is also the same.
The one major difference is the presence of the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset in OnePlus 7. So, the performance of OnePlus 7 will be better than the performance of OnePlus 6T with Snapdragon 845. OnePlus 7 also comes with UFS 3.0 storage that offers better read and write speeds. Performance upgrade is not so big because Snapdragon 845 is still a powerful chip to have in your phone in 2019.
Another major difference is the camera. OnePlus 7 comes with a dual camera setup including a 48 megapixels primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor and 5 megapixels secondary camera. On the other hand, 6T has a 16-megapixel main and 20-megapixel depth camera setup. OnePlus 7 offers improved photography and more detailed photos.
The Selfie camera is same but OnePlus 7 has EIS for videos recorded from the front camera. An addition for Vloggers.

The Fingerprint sensor in OnePlus 7 is under the display, same as in OnePlus 6T. Both the phones have 3700 mAh battery and support Fast Charge.
Final Words
OnePlus 7 is not a huge upgrade on OnePlus 6T. You won’t notice much difference in performance, but camera performance is, of course, better in OnePlus 7. If you already own a OnePlus 6T, I don’t think you should upgrade to OnePlus 7. If you really want to upgrade, you should consider OnePlus 7 Pro that has a lot to offer. People who bought OnePlus 6T on discount recently will surely be disappointed because OnePlus 7 starts at the same price as OnePlus 6T after the discount. Those consumers could get the latest model by waiting a few days.
