As promised, OnePlus has showcased its first 5G prototype smartphone at MWC 2019 in Barcelona.

This 5G prototype phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. People visiting the MWC19 can get a sneak peek at Qualcomm Technologies’ booth and check the 5G cloud gaming.

The phone is encased in a white plastic shroud to hide the real design as the phone is yet to be officially announced. We just know that it packs Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with X50 modem. It also looks to feature bigger display.

In the 5G cloud gaming, it puts just 20 MB data on the phone and rest game is streamed. Thanks to 5G performance, it offers lag-free cloud gaming experience.

OnePlus also confirms that it is working closely with EE to be among the first to release a 5G commercial smartphone in the UK

Not much we ca tell you about the phone. It could either be OnePlus 7 or any new series for 5G phones.

Even if 5G is not yet available for consumers, we have already seen Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. Mi Mix 3 5G, and LG V50 ThinQ smartphones that are 5G ready. OnePlus has also showcased its 5G prototype and is expected to launch this phone in May this year.
