Last year in August, we wrote about Nubia Alpha. It was also showcased at IFA but the company kept it at a distance from us. Now in Barcelona, Nubia is ready to share specs of Nubia Alpha and lets media see the device. This is the finalized version that looks more polished and ready to use.
Nubia Alpha comes with a 4-inch OLED display with 960×192 pixels resolution. The flexible display is being manufactured by Visionox. The display also has the protection of strong, heat-resistant polymer called Polyimide.
It packs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset. It also has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage.
There is also a 5 megapixels camera for capturing photos and recording videos.
It also comes with fitness tracking features and can track sleep, exercise and heart rate. All these features are made available on a custom-made wearable OS. It also supports multi-touch and finnicky air gestures along with voice commands to make it easy to sue and navigate through different options.
It comes with Bluetooth, WiFi, and 4G eSIM support. It means you can browse the web, send text messages and make calls without it being connected to your phone. Nubia has also teamed with China Unicom for eSIM support.
It packs 500 mAh battery that can offer up to two days of backup on a single charge.
Bluetooth only model of Nubia Alpha is priced at €449 while the black 4G eSim variant will be sold for €549. Here is also a 4G eSim alternative coated in 18-karat gold and it will be sold for €649.
