Few days back Jay Mani teased Xiaomi’s new sub brand POCO. This sub brand will focus on premium phones to take on OnePlus and Samsung. Now POCO India has tweeted to confirm the launch date of its first smartphone POCO F1.

POCO F1 will be launched in India on August 22 at an event in New Delhi.

POCO F1 India Launch

We do not have much details about the phone. But there were few leaks in past talking about the phone. It will be an high-end phone with Snapdragon 845 and 6GB RAM.

It will also feature a 20 megapixels front camera, IR Face Unlock and 4000 mAh battery. The phone is also said to feature a liquid cooling system that hints about it being a gaming centric phone. A leaked video also claimed the AnTuTu score of the phone to be 285,302 and the similar score was seen in second leaked video.

POCO’s recent tweet about the phone suggest the primary focus to be performance. Xiaomi failed to attract consumers for its high-end phones, so it never launched Mi 6 and Mi 8 phones in India. Now, they started this new sub brand just for launching premium phones at aggressive pricing. As per claims, they have worked from scratch to analyse market to bring a phone for Indian consumers. It will be interesting to see how well they manage to make a hype.
