Popular lip-sync app Musical.ly is shutting down. All of its users will be shifted to a similar video platform Tik Tok. Basically this is a merger of Musical.ly to TikTok that will see Musical.ly’s brand and app disappear.

Tik Tok is owned by a Chinese firm Bytedance that acquired Musical.ly for $1 billion last year in November. Now the company has decided to merge two of its platforms and give users the experience of both apps in Single platform.

Over 100 million mostly active users of Musical.ly will join Tik Tok’s community of 500 million users. If you have not heard about Tik Tok, you should know that app was ranked as world’s most popular iPhone app in Q1 2018.

Musical.ly users will find several new features at Tik Tick including a new feed with content from more countries, “reactions” for responding to videos, Snapchat-style face filters and other ways to spice up their own clips.

If you are Musical.ly user, you ca grab the Tik Tok app from Google Play and the App Store right now Or you can just update your app. After updating the app, you will see Tik Tok in your phone. You can use your existing Musical.ly account to log in and all your Musical.ly data will be there in the new app.
