Facebook has finally started rolling out Facebook Watch in India. If you are lucky enough to get this, you will see a TV icon at top navigation. Tapping on it will open the videos section to watch videos from different Facebook pages.
As the notification says, Facebook will also bring exclusive shows along with showing popular videos from different pages. At this moment, we have no information about Facebook’s exclusive content plan for India. Facebook already tried getting digital distribution rights of IPL matches but lost the bid to Star India. It may have already been talk to other film studios for exclusive content.
If you do not have that icon on your app, you can search for Watch and Facebook will show you a shortcut to access the videos. But this dedicated icon at the top will give you one click access to watch videos available on Facebook.
The company has also launched app for creators last year that allows content creator on Facebook add news videos, manage videos, check analytics and more.
Facebook Watch was launched last year in November but it was only available in US. The company has not confirmed when it will bring it to India but it was expected to bring Facebook Watch in India between January and March. The launch was delayed but now it is being rolled out.
