Canon’s New PowerShot SX740 HS Pocket Camera Launched With 40x Zoom

Canon has just launched a new pocket sized camera Canon PowerShot SX740 HS. The camera is for casual use. It is compact in size and can take quick photos and videos.

Canon PowerShot SX740 HS features a 20.3 megapixels sensor and 24-960mm equivalent lens. It also offers 40x optical zoom that is good for a camera of this size.

The camera has 3.0-inch LCD that rotates 180 degree. PowerShot SX740 HS features Canon’s DIGIC 8 image processor that enables 7.4fps continuous shooting and high resolution video recording. This is the first camera of PowerShot series to feature 4K recording and 4K timelapse mode.

ISO sensitivity ranges from 80 to 3200, with a maximum of ISO 1600 in auto mode. Shutter speeds range from 1/3200 second to 15 seconds. Canon has also added 5-axis image stabilization that provides up to three stops of camera shake compensation.

It has range of automatic settings that includes 29 scenes pre-programmed modes. It is worth to note that it doesn’t support RAW capture.

It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. So, you can quickly capture some videos and photos and transfer them to your phones for sharing on social media.

This camera has been priced at $399.99 and will be available in late August in the US. It will be sold in two colors: Black and Silver
