Reliance Jio revolutionized the India’s 4G market and managed to grab consumers with its attractive data offering. Its growth has been tremendous so far and the company has now overtaken Vodafone to second largest telecom service provider in the country by ‘access service gross revenues’.

Back in February, the company surpassed Idea to be at third place. The report is based on data published by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Reliance Jio generated total revenues of Rs 6,217 crore in the quarter ended March 2018 and managed to 15% growth preceding quarter. On the other hand, Vodafone generated an Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) of Rs 4,937 crore. Airtel is still at the top with total revenues of Rs 7,087 crore but this number represents a 9 percent decline from the quarter ended December 2017. So, Reliance jio can dethrone Airtel in coming quarters.

It is also interesting to note that Jio will move back to third place once the Vodafone-Idea merger goes through. This new entity will be even bigger than Airtel in terms of revenues, as well as subscribers.

Even if Jio is at third in terms of revenue but it is at the 4th place in terms of subscribers. Last month, it confirmed to achieve 200 million mark. Airtel is at the top in terms of subscribers as well.
