Finally Instagram has started rolling out video calling and few other features it announced during F8 developers conference. All these features are now available to everyone using latest version of Instagram for iOS and Android
Instagram video calls allows up to four friends to group video call together through Instagram Direct.
To start a video call, swipe into your Direct inbox and open any message thread. Here, you see a new camera icon in the right corner. Tap on it to make a video call. You can always minimize the video call and browser Instagram, send message and per-form other actions.
Similar to WhatsApp video calls, you are getting option to call up to four people at a time.
Not just video calls, but Instagram is also rolling out new explore page that gives new ways to discover your interests on Instagram. Now it is easier to browse through posts you want to see.
The company is also adding new camera effects designed by Ariana Grande, Buzzfeed, Liza Koshy, Baby Ariel and NBA in the Instagram camera. Do not miss these camera effects and get more ways to express yourself.
All these features are being rolled out gradually. So, it may take few days to reach you.
All these new features have been added to boost the amount of time you spend on Instagram. IGTV is also an effort to do the same. Instagram knows how to keep users engaged and this is the reason it keeps on adding new options. Today, it has been valued over $100 billion. The way it is growing, it is expected to surpass Facebook in coming years.
