Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium With 5.8-inch 4K HDR Display, Dual Rear Camera, Snapdragon 845 Announced

Sony has just announced its flagship smartphone Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium. The company unveiled Sony Xperia XZ2 at MWC 2018 earlier this year and this new phone is the successor with few improvements.

The phone has 3D glass body with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the back. It has front facing stereo speakers. Dimensions measure 158 x 80 x 11.9 mm and it weighs 236g.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium comes with 5.8-inch 4K HDR Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The company claims that the phone got 11% larger and 30% brighter display than the display on XZ Premium. It runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo).

The phone is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 GPU. It has 6GB RAM and 64 GB storage with option to expand storage up to 4000 GB.

The phone has dual camera setup with 19 megapixels rear camera having Exmos RS sensor, 1/2.3″ sensor, f/1.8 aperture G Lens, 1.22μm pixel size, Predictive capture and 5-axis stabilization along with 12 megapixels secondary monochrome sensor having 1/2.3″ Exmor RS sensor, 1.55μm pixel size, f/1.6 aperture G Lens. It supports 4K video recording and 960fps slow-motion video. It has 13 megapixels front camera with 1/ 3,06″ Exmor RS sensor, 22mm wide-angle and f/2.0 aperture.

Xperia XZ2 Premium supports USB Type-C audio and comes with Stereo speaker with S-Force Front Surround, DSEE HX and LDAC.

The phone will be available in Single SIM and Dual SIM variants depending on the markets. It features 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC and USB 3.1 Type-C connectivity options.

The phone packs 3540 mAh Battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Qi Wireless charging.

It comes in Chrome Black and Chrome Silver colors. The company has not talked about pricing but confirmed that the phone will be available globally from Summer 2018.
