Huawei P20 With 5.8-inch Notched Display, Dual Camera Unveiled

Today, Huawei announced Huawei P20 and Huawei P20 Pro smartphones. I have already talked about Huawei P20 Pro detail. Huawei P20 is similar to Huawei P20 Pro but with dual camera setup.

Huawei P20 also features a similar design with notch and narrow bezels. It comes with an IP53 rating. The dimensions measure 149.1 mm x 70.8 mm x 7.65 mm and it weighs 165g.

It has a smaller display that P20 Pro. Hawed P20 features 5.8″ LCD display with 1,080 x 2,244 pixels resolution. Just below the display, it has the fingerprint sensor. That also acts as a multi-purpose control key. It also runs on Android 8.1 with EMUI 8.1.

The phone is powered by octa-core processor with Kirin 970 chipset and Mali-G72MP12 SPU. It has 4 GB RAM and comes with 64GB of storage. The storage is expandable but you can then only use 1 Sim due to the Hybrid slot. There is also a dedicated NPU for machine learning acceleration.

The phone has a dual camera setup that includes a 12 megapixels RGB sensor with OIS, f/1.6 lens, 1.55µm pixels and 20 megapixels monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture. It has PDAF, laser autofocus, contrast autofocus, and depth detection autofocus. The camera offers x lossless zoom and can also shoot 720p@960fps slow-mo videos.

It has 24 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It ca capture portrait shots and studio-lightning effects. It also enables face unlock. The company claims that face unlock of this phone is 2x faster than Face Unlock in iPhone X.

The phone comes with Wi-Fi 2.4 G, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with Wi-Fi Direct support, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C connectivity options.. The phone packs 3400 mAh battery with support to Huawei SuperCharge.

Huawei P20 costs €680 and will be available soon after the event.
