Huawei P20 Pro Is World’s First Triple Camera Phone

Huawei’s P series of smartphones is known for company’s innovative smartphone lineup. This year, the company has launched Huawei P20 Pro with a triple camera setup that claims to be the most advanced camera system ever on any smartphone.

Huawei P20 Pro is premium in terms of design. It comes in Midnight Blue, Black, Pink Gold, Twilight color options. The phone has an iPhone X style notch on the top side of the display but the notch is smaller The dimensions measure 155.0 mm x 73.9 mm x 7.8 mm and it weighs 180g. The phone is IP67 rated for dust and water resistance.

It features 6.1 inches AMOLED display with 2240 x 1080p resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The phone runs on EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1. It is powered by Octa-core Huawei Kirin 970 processor, NPU, and Mali-G72 MP12. The phone packs 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 128GB of storage.

If I talk about camera setup, the phone gets triple camera setup where you get a 40 megapixels RGB sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 20 megapixels monochrome sensor with f/1.6 aperture and 8 megapixels telephoto f/2.4 sensor with OIS. The camera setup feature PDAF, Dual LED flash, CAF, Laser autofocus, Depth autofocus, 3x optical zoom, 5x Hybrid Zoom and 4K video recording at 30fps. This setup includes the jaw-dropping maximum ISO of 102,400.

It has 24 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also has background and lighting effects. It can also be used for Face Unlock via 2D mapping. The company claims that the Face Unlock on this phone is 2x faster compared to the iPhone X.

Connectivity features of the phone include Wi-Fi 2.4 G, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac with Wi-Fi Direct support, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB Type-C. The phone packs 4000 mAh battery with support to Huawei SuperCharge.

Huawei P20 Pro is immediately available globally. It costs €900.
