If you are still using the popular keyboard app Swipe, it is the time to get a new one. Nuance, the company behind Swype has confirmed that the development of Swype with Dragon Dictation has been discontinued.

The company will not add any new feature and the app will not get any update in future.

The company has confirmed this on Reddit when a user reported Nuance directly to report the crash on their Pixel 2 after the Android 8.1 update. Later, the company also confirmed the same to XDADevelopers.

However, we are sad to announce that Swype+Dragon for Android has faced end of development. Here is a statement from Swype Product Team:

Nuance will no longer be updating the Swype+Dragon keyboard for Android. We’re sorry to leave the direct-to-consumer keyboard business, but this change is necessary to allow us to concentrate on developing our AI solutions for sale directly to businesses.

We hope you enjoyed using Swype, we sure enjoyed working with the Swype community.

The company has taken this hard decision to focus on its AI solutions that is sell directly to business. It is purely a business decision. The company does not want to put efforts in the segment that is not returning anything.

Swipe, the original gesture typing app, is still primary choice for many users. The app was launched back in 2013 and is still popular.
