As expected, Xiaomi has launched Redmi 5A in India. This is the success of budget phone Redmi 4A. The phone will be available in 2GB / 16GB and 3GB/32 GB variants priced at Rs. 5999 and Rs. 6999. But the company is offering the first 5 million units of 2GB/16GB Redmi 5A at Rs. 4999. The phone will be available exclusively on Flipkart.

The phone was initially announced in China last month.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes with 5-inch HD IPS LCD display and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. It is powered by 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 processor with 500MHz Adreno 308 GPU. The phone comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. Unlike previous phones, this time the Xiaomi phone comes with a dedicated microSD card slot. One can expand the storage up to 128GB.

Redmi 5A

The phone has 13 megapixels rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording. It also has a 5 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The phone comes with the infrared sensor but lacks fingerprint sensor. It offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS + GLONASS connectivity features. It packs 3000 mAh battery and claims to offer up to 8 days of standby time.

The smartphone will be available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold color variants. It will be available starting December 7 at 12pm from Flipkart and Mi.com, and Mi Home Stores.
