After so many leaks, Xiaomi has finally launched its new smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 5A in China. It is the successor of Xiaomi Redmi 4A. It comes with the price tag of 599 Yuan and will go on sale in China starting today.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A comes with 5-inch HD IPS display. It runs on Android 7.1 (Nougat) with MIUI 9. The phone has 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 processor with 500MHz Adreno 308 GPU and 2 GB RAM. It comes with 16GB internal storage with an option to expand storage up to 128GB with microSD.

Redmi 5A

It comes with 13 megapixels rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture and 1080p video recording. It has 5 megapixels front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also has smart & pro beautify modes.

The phone lacks fingerprint sensor but comes with an infrared sensor. So, you can use it as remote to control your home appliances. The phone offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS + GLONASS connectivity options. It packs 3000 mAh battery.

The phone comes in Platinum Silver, Champagne Gold, and Rose Gold colors. Dimensions of the phone measure 140.4 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weight is 137grams. It comes with a unibody design with the Metal-like matte finish.

As of now, the phone is only available in China. Xiaomi didn’t specify when the phone will be launched in Indian market.
