Uber starts food delivery service UberEATS in India

Ride booking service Uber has just announced its food delivery service UberEATS in India. The service has kicked off from Mumbai starting 12 noon today.

The company has partnered with over 200 restaurants to offer a wide range of food options in Mumbai. The company has already confirmed to expand to six cities before the end of the year without taking the name of the cities.

UberEATS app is available for Android and iOS devices. You can pick a delivery location, select the food, place order, pay through PyTm and track your orders.

In India, the company will be competing with FoodPanda, Swiggy, Zomato and more startups offering online food delivery service. Food delivery market is very big in the country but most of the companies are struggling to make money. Ola also tried the same but couldn’t get good results. Now, Uber also wants to try its luck.

UberEATS was initially launched in U.S. last year and now it is live in 78 cities across 26 countries worldwide.
