Two days back, Google announced Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. Google’s this attempt is to directly take on Apple. These phones are not just good in terms of features, but pricing is also high enough. We already wrote 7 Things you must know about Google Pixel SmartphonesNo doubt these phones are good enough to attract buyers, but there are few things which are notable and do not make this a value for money phone.

In this article, I am writing 3 reasons why should think of buying another phone in place of Google Pixel.

1. No water resistance

This is the biggest disappointment. These phones come with high-end specs and pricing is also premium, but you are not getting water resistant build. This year, Apple also made iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus water resistant. Samsung Galaxy Note 7, S7 and S7 Edge all models are water resistant. While Note 7 is not a phone you should choose, you can go with S7, S7 Edge or iPhone 7 in place of Google Pixel or Google Pixel XL.

2. No OIS

Object image stabilization or OIS is one of the important camera feature. When you are paying more than Rs. 50,000, there should be OIS camera feature. Google boasts Pixel to be best camera and claims very high camera benchmark score, but how can it ignore OIS that improves camera experience.

3. Costly

While this phone boasts to have many features including Google Assistant, it still lacks many things that Samsung offers in the same price segment. If you just look at many other Android phones, OnePlus 3 is half of the price and is still a worth to buy phone. Pixel claims to offer best smartphone camera, but pricing is still high enough to recommend this phone. These phones do not seem to be value for money.

These are three key things that is worth to consider while thinking about Pixel phones. Google

Google’s Nexus 6p and 5X also featured stereo speaker setup which Google could consider adding in this phone. There is also no option to expand storage which you get this option in most of the Android phones.
