Apple announced WatchOS 3 with instant launch, control center and more
Apple opened up its WWDC with new updates to its wearable OS WatchOS 3. It got various new features to make it better and faster.
There are several changes in the user interface to make it easier to access and faster in performance. Apple says that apps will not launch seven times faster than on WatchOS 2. This is because of a new feature called Instant Launch.
Updated interface also got Control Center which can be accessed via a swipe up from the bottom of the display. Control Center lets you quickly access settings like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Night Shift. You can access the dock of recent and running apps with the side button. Users can also put their own set of apps into the dock.
Now AppleWatch also supports handwriting recognition with a new feature called Scribble. It lets you quickly scribble on the screen of the Apple Watch which translates to words.
WatchOS 3 also includes smart replies. So, you can reply to notifications direct from message notifications.
Apple has also introduced a new safety feature SOS which lets you call 911 in just a few seconds by holding down the side button. It will dial the 911 by using phone’s cellular connection or through the watch’s Wi-Fi connection in case cellular network is not available. Soon after the call, it will also send the automatic ping to emergency contacts. Apple says that this feature works locally for many countries and will automatically call the correct emergency number for that country.
Watch OS 3 also comes with many health related improvements. Now your health activities are becoming competitive. You can also share your health metrics with friends by using feature called Activity Sharing.
